Search Terms
When you enter a name, place, or other term in a search tool, the query goes to the third-party provider that operates that tool. The provider handles the search on its systems under its own terms. Illinois Recent Arrests does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages to the Site
If you email us or submit a contact message, we keep the information you provide so we can read it and respond. We do not share those messages outside our organization unless a legal requirement calls for disclosure.

Illinois Recent Arrests links to jail rosters, sheriff and corrections pages, government portals, county-level sites, and third-party search tools. Once you leave, the destination’s privacy policy and practices apply. Illinois FOIA, 5 ILCS 140, sets public-record access duties for Illinois public bodies; those duties are separate from this private site’s handling of visitor information.
Some advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. That tracking, if used, takes place through the partner’s services and is not performed by this site.

Search terms go directly to the outside search provider, so we may not be able to retrieve or change a query held in that provider’s systems.
